Nova Labs October 2021 Member Updates

Board announcement regarding the makerspace move.

As we near Nova Labs' 10th anniversary, the board is excited to announce that we have taken the next big step in our future by securing a permanent home for Nova Labs. We have voted to move forward with the acquisition of the Jermantown Rd property in Fairfax City. We will close on the property at the end of October, begin construction immediately, and move in February. Nova Labs will need your support as we move into the next phases of design, build-out, and move. Thank you to everyone that has worked to get us here! We are looking forward to an exciting future and all the possibilities that our new space will bring.

VP of Operations, Board of Directors.

Oct 23, 2021: Happy Birthday Nova Labs!

Our makerspace is 10 years old and we want you there to celebrate. Come on over to 1916 Isaac Newton Sq. West this weekend!

We'll provide the golden anniversary atmosphere, an awesome celebratory cake with edible maker pictures, sodas, and the plates.

COME EARLY!! We have a ceremony at 4pm with VIPs such as Vint Cerf, VP of Google (Father of TCP-IP) and other government VIPs attending and speaking!

Plus be there for the kickoff of our Nova Labs 3.0 "Joy of Making" Capital Campaign.

Also on October 23, earlier in the day:

Stop the Bleed Kit Building - Volunteers Needed

Come help us pack "stop the bleed" kits for Saving Lives America. Be a part of saving one or potentially hundreds of lives in an emergency.

The goal is to pack 1000 kits, so we really need you and lots of others to help. Sign up so we know to we can count on you.

This is a great follow-up to all of the PPE creation that Nova Labs members and friends did in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, and is a great way to give back to our community.

October 31, 2021 - Trunk or Treat

Bring your family and your friends dressed in holiday costumes. Go trick-or-treating in our spacious outdoor lot. Visit each spookily decorated vehicle in a safe, fun, and completely outdoor environment. Soak up the spooky hallows night atmosphere with some music, food, and prizes.

More spooky vehicles welcome.
