YOUTH ROBOTICS PROGRAMS

 Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology 

Nova Labs supports several award-winning teams under FIRST (For Inspiration Recognition Science and Technology)

FLL Explore

Ages: 5 - 8 years old (PreK to 2nd Grade)

In First Lego League Explore, teams of students focus on the fundamentals of engineering as they explore real-world problems, learn to design, and code, and create unique solutions made with LEGO bricks.

FLL Challenge

Ages: 9 - 12 years old (3rd Grade to 6th Grade)

In First Lego League Challenge, friendly competition is at the heart of the Challenge. Teams engage in research, problem solving, and engineering building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates through the missions of a robot game.

FTC

Ages: 12 - 18 years old (7th Grade to 12th Grade)

In First Tech Challenge, teams are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. Through this program, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and teamwork.

FRC

Ages: 14 - 18 years old (9th Grade to 12th Grade)

First Robotics Competition combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand", develop teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors.

Ages: 6 - 12 years old     $150 per session

Thursday Sessions (6 weeks, 1 day per week)

  • September 14, 2023 to October 19, 2023

  • October 26, 2023 to December 12, 2023

This class combines science concepts with LEGOs and robots! Kids will learn how to build catapults, karts, and many other motorized mechanisms.
